Daylight
Open source · Python · MIT
Watchlist, market research and trading journal in one place. Follow US stocks, options and Bitcoin without spending the session switching between charts, news tabs and notes.
Synthetic prices, no live market, no backend. Nothing is saved. Nothing in it is a trade.
Keep up with your watchlist
Follows quotes and recent price activity for the symbols you choose. Each one gets a status and an explanation, so you can see what deserves a closer look. Stale data, wide spreads and ideas that exceed your limits get flagged.
Read the research behind an idea
AI research agents review company news and filings, social sentiment and broader market events. Reports link back to sources and show gaps in coverage. Compare the findings, open the original material and decide whether the case holds up.
Ask about a specific idea or research a longer-term thesis. Research sits next to the market data, so you can check a story against what prices are doing.
Plan a position and keep a record
Set risk per idea, session loss allowance and maximum position size. Ideas are checked against those limits, with amounts shown in dollars. Paper positions track an idea against live prices. A separate journal records trades placed elsewhere.
Doesn't place orders. You review the research and make the trading decisions.
Run it on your own computer
Free, MIT-licensed. Settings and journal stay on your machine. Uses your market-data connection and, if enabled, your AI provider or local model. A daily AI spending limit keeps research costs in check.
Needs Python 3.11 or later and an Alpaca market-data key. AI research is optional. The market dashboard works without it. Available data depends on your feed and subscription.
