Busywork

Open source · Self-hosted · In development

Give a team of AI agents a job and a place to work. Tasks, conversations, documents and spending stay together, so you can follow what they're doing and step in when they need a decision.

Synthetic company on recorded data. Approvals and decisions work. Nothing is saved.

Keep work moving between sessions

A lead agent plans the work and delegates to other agents. They exchange messages, share files and set up follow-ups. The workspace keeps that history, so a longer job continues without rebuilding the context in a new chat.

Built for work with several steps and handoffs: research that becomes a draft, documents that need review, a customer order with follow-up work still to do. Tasks and the files they produce live in the same workspace.

Review the decisions that matter

You set the team's brief, spending limits and approval requirements. Approval requests include the proposed action and its cost. If an agent changes the proposal, it needs a new approval.

Activity history keeps proposals, approvals and execution records together. See what was requested, what went ahead and what still needs attention.

Use your own models and accounts

Runs on your own machine with local models or your preferred API providers. Spending controls track model calls. Documents and history persist between restarts.

Optional connections: Gmail for correspondence, Twilio for owner notifications, Netlify for publishing sites. Each uses your own account and needs setup. New installs start paused, with approvals required for spending, communications and publishing.

Project status

In development. Source is public on GitHub under AGPL-3.0. No hosted sign-up.

Experimental platform for coordinating agent work. Still needs human oversight. Its ability to run a profitable business hasn't been established.
